Mo Marks is a two time ISD Alumna. She competed in both extemporaneous speaking and impromptu speaking all four years of her time at Theodore Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa, where she is currently the captain of the speech and debate team. Mo has excelled locally, winning five state championships so far as well as qualifying to NSDAs three times so far. She has also had success on the national circuit with final round appearances at Yale, Florida Blue Key, Glenbrooks, Crestian, Patriot Games, Montgomery Bell Academy, Marshall, and Harvard. She quarterfinaled at ETOC twice in extemp, semifinaled once at UKTOC in extemp, and she finaled at ETOC in impromptu. In 2019, she won the NSDA national tournament in Impromptu! Mo also works to strengthen her community by coaching middle school PF and oratory as well as working with her novice team mates to increase their skills. Mo can’t wait to help more students from around the country experience the ISD difference this summer!
