Jacob Deutsch (he/him) is a proud alumnus of Eastern Michigan University, where he competed for four years at the collegiate level in limited preparation, public address, moot court, and debate events, reaching national outrounds in every category. Following graduation, Jacob coached high school and college students across the country, helping them succeed at local, state, and national competitions. He currently serves as an Assistant Coach for Speech Events at Durham Academy.
Jacob earned his Master’s in Education from Edgewood College and transitioned from a career in politics and nonprofits back into the classroom. He is now an award-winning educator who brings firsthand civic experience into his social studies classrooms.
This summer, Jacob is excited to join the ISD staff as the Director of Residential Life. A strong advocate for the educational, social, and developmental benefits of camp, he is passionate about creating a welcoming, safe, and fun environment where every camper can thrive.
