Decades of Speech and Debate Excellence in a Safe and Secure Environment
At ISD, we pride ourselves on the quality of our staff. Our senior faculty are all accomplished debate coaches with a college degree. This distinction is important to us; teaching experience and maturity matter. Our junior faculty are the best former competitors in their events. Our junior faculty are valuable contributors to our instruction and provide critical insight for our students, but the curriculum is designed and primarily executed by educators, with decades of NSDA coaching experience and multiple national and major invitational championships.
We take the safety and security of our students and faculty very seriously at ISD. Every ISD employee is interviewed by our directors and must complete a robust background check before working with us each summer. We also conduct detailed employee training at the beginning of each session that covers ISD policies, student safety procedures, harassment prevention, and issues concerning Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice.
